Marsha Hunt (100 years young!!) MGM and Paramount film star and defender of civil liberties featured in over 60 movies including Born to the West (1937), Pride and Prejudice (1940), Kid Glove Killer (1942), Cry 'Havoc' (1943), Raw Deal (1948), The Happy Time (1952) and in Johnny Got His Gun (1971).

 

 

 

 

Norman Lloyd (103 years young!!) (born Norman Perlmutter) actor, producer and director who has worked in radio, theatre, television and film dating back to the Great Depression, and at 103 years of age is the oldest working Hollywood actor. His over 60 credits include Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Spellbound, Dead Poets Society and Limelight.

For our 81st Annual Spring Ball 2017, the Southern California Motion Picture Council looks forward to welcoming not only Living Legend and Hollywood insider-writer Laurie Jacobson, but also her amazing husband Jon Provost whose star on the Walk of Fame commemorates his unforgettable heart-warming performances as little Timmy on “Lassie!"

Laurie Jacobson is a celebrated Hollywood historian, author and producer. A reformed stand-upcomic, Laurie started out working with classmates Robin Williams, John Ritter and John Larroquette.Laurie immersed herself in history and wrote Hollywood Heartbreak, a 75-year history of Hollywood told through the lives and deaths of 31 celebrities. She has written and produced documentaries, television series and specials including: The 20th Anniversary of the Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Museum of Television and Radio’s Salute to Funny Women of Television, The Warner Bros. Studio Rededication Party, The Suzanne Somers Show and more. Rance Howard
Let’s roll out the red carpet for Hollywood royalty! Acting in such classics as the Andy Griffith Show and Bonanza, Rance Howard has acted in over 100 films and television shows include Gunsmoke, Kung Fu, The Waltons, The Drug Knot, Angel, 7th Heaven, Cold Case, That's So Raven, and two appearances on Seinfeld. On The Waltons, Howard portrayed Dr. McIver in five different episodes. He married actress Jean Speegle Howard in Burbank, California in 1949 and is the father of actor and director Ron Howard as well as actor Clint Howard, he is also grandfather of actresses Bryce Dallas Howard and Paige Howard. His professional acting career began in 1948 when he went from Oklahoma to New York City, auditioned and landed a job. He eventually acted in the play Mister Roberts with Henry Fonda in 1950. Both Rance and oldest son Ron, who was 2 at the time, made their feature film debuts together in the 1956 western Frontier Woman. Howard's stern appearance allows him to play sheriffs, marshalls and priests. He has acted in many of his son’s films including Grand Theft Auto, Splash, Cocoon and Gung Ho. Howard was known best for his role on television in 25 episodes of the 1960s TV series Gentle Ben—which starred his youngest son Clint—as Henry Broomhauer, a backwoodsman who befriended the family. Ann Robinson
California native and Hollywood insider Ann Robinson acted in grade-school plays, became an accomplished horse rider, and accepted professional work in Hollywood as a stunt rider in the film Frenchie with Shelley Winters. She was a stunt woman in movies like Black Midnight (1949) and The Story of Molly X (1949). She was part of Paramount's Golden Circle of New Stars in the early 1950s and had a leading role in producer George Pal's science-fiction classic The War of the Worlds (1953). She also appeared in the 1954 film Dragnet, in which she starred as a Los Angeles police officer opposite Jack Webb and Ben Alexander. In 1957, she ran off to Mexico to marry a famous matador, Jaime Bravo and their son Jaime Jr. became a director with ABC Sports and has won several Emmy awards. Since 1987, Robinson has been married to real estate broker Joseph Valdez. Her other television roles were on Adam-12, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Bachelor Father, Ben Casey, Biff Baker, U.S.A., The Bob Cummings Show, The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show, Days of Our Lives, Four Star Playhouse, General Hospital, Gilligan's Island, It's a Great Life, The Millionaire, My Little Margie, Perry Mason, Peter Gunn, Police Woman, Rawhide, Rocky Jones Space Ranger, Rory Calhoun's The Texan, Waterfront, and The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp. Monday October 10th we have the great honor of presenting the 80th Golden Halo Awards Ceremony at 7pm at the historic Sportsmens Lodge in the Cascade Ballroom.

In honor of this very special occasion we will present Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe the Golden Halo Award for Interactive Media and Music. The Award will be presented by legendary Academy Award Winning Miss Margaret O'Brien. Also in attendance will be the wonderful Jamie Luner from Murder in the First, Melrose Place and Savannah by Aaron Spelling, winner of Golden Halo Best Actress 2016. Jamie Luner - Some of Ms. Luner’s film and television career highlights include her roles in Just the Ten of Us (1988) as dizzy "Cindy Lubbock”, Moment of Truth: Why My Daughter? ABOUT US: The Southern California Motion Picture Council was founded in 1936 when Linda Burke established its non-profit status on May 1, 1936. Our very first event was held at the celebrated Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel when Jean Harlow accepted the Golden Halo Award. Over 75 years later, we continue the grand tradition at the famed Sportsmen's Lodge.

Terry Moore - Golden Halo Lifetime Achievement Award

- Ms. Moores' film debut was at age 11 in 20th Century Fox's Maryland (1940). Throughout the 1940s, she worked under a variety of names (her own, Judy Ford and January Ford) before settling on Terry Moore in 1948. Credits include RKO's Mighty Joe Young (1949); she received an Academy Award nomination for her performance in Paramount's Come Back, Little Sheba (1952). She wrote a book detailing her secret life with Hughes from 1947-56, The Beauty and the Billionaire, in 1984. She has starred in 77 feature films, is a pilot and has co-starred with many of Hollywood's leading legends.
